Show NAVY DEPARTMENT AIDED BY INVENTORS Since war was declared the naval consulting board has received more than 40,000 suggestions, plans or mode's mo-de's of Ingenious devices for use by the Navy Pepnrtment more than two-thirds of them concerning the problem of combating the menace of the enemy submarines. All suggestions sugges-tions receive careful attention, those of merit being brought to the attention atten-tion of the Secretary of the Navy. While many proposals have been found to be Impractical) much valuable valua-ble aid has been given to various branches of the war service. The Naval Na-val Consulting Hoard and the Navy Department have prepared for free distribution pamphlets giving general information to inventors that they may avoid misconceptions one of the most general being that some miraculous miracu-lous machine may be conceived by the use of which the seas may at once be cleared of submarines. |
