SCOUT8 HIKE IN THE HEAT. During the hottest part of the warm weather eight scouts of Troop No. D of l'oughkeepsle, N. Y., made a gypsy hike with their trek-cart over the 113 miles from that city to New York. They did it In five days, this being an average of about 22 miles per day. They carried on aheir trek-cart their full camp equipment, nnd slept out j under the trees at night and cooked nil their meals by day. Although the I thermometer went up to 100 degrees, they made this record progress, and all arrived In tine shape, looking trim and tit and with a fine color of tan.
