Show MRS. MARY C. GODDARD DEAD. News was received here last Tuesday Tues-day of tho death at Leeds of Mrs. Mnry A. Goddard, mother of G. C. and Sidney Goddnrd of thin place and Haimony, the day previous. Her two sonB at once set out to attend the funeral, fu-neral, but on account of tho delay in getting tho word, and the extremely Uormy condition of the weather, with resultant puddy roada and swollen mountain ptvpoms intervening, wcro unable to get through by tho appointed appoint-ed time, and wore obliged to return home. Interment took place in the Harrisburg cemetery, where deceased has a daughter buried. Deceased came to southern Utah In 1850, and has resided for the most part at New Harmony. She was the first whlto girl married in Payson, Utah, which town was named after her father, "Jimmle" Pace. Three sons and one daughter survive sur-vive her, a son and a daughtor have gone before The living children, in addition to those already mentioned, are William P. Goddard, residing in Mexico, and Mrs. Hannah Jolloy of 1 Washington, UtMi. |
