Show Electricity Iti Wheat Raising; The practicability of using static electricity to supplement sunlight in the cultivation of winter wheat is being tested at the government experiment farm at Arlington, Va., according to the February Popular Mechanics Magazine. The theory of the government scientists, headed by Dr. Lyman J. Briggs, is that the natural electricity in the atmosphere is beneficial to plant growth and that there would seem to be no reason why, if this natural electricity be amplified or increased in-creased by mechanical means, nature will not be still further assisted in her work, particularly I during, the winter months when the supply of sunlight is cur- I tailed. |
