Show H ITS UP TO US. H Predictions are being made that with ' H the coming of spring we will see H western copper mines again reopened. ' H This is only n guess however. H Copper mines will open when de-j H mnnd for the metal can take care of H production and not until then. H As a nation, we control this demnnd H to a large extent. We are tho greatest H producers of copper and we should be H the greatest consumers of copper. H , The day has arrived when we should H consider building and construction H from the standpoint of permanency. H Instead of temporary "shacks" in , H cities and towns, we should begin the H erection of more structures which will H stand as a monument to this period of H our country's history. I H Copper lends itself to this class of H construction. Copper in the home,' H copper water gutters, copper down . H spouts, copper screens, copper in of-' H fico buildings and more copper and H brass in automobile construction H would mean an early resumption of H western copper mining on which to a H largo extent, depends our silver, zinc, H lead and gold mining. I H As western people, we should all H take a deeper interest in the problems H of our mining industry which normally H turns hundreds of millions of dollars H over to workmen in wages. |
