Show Mercantile Exhibit Of ! Seperators ; The Cedar Mercantile had one ! of the most unique displays at j; the fair that has been attempted ; in this city. They had on dis- play a number of Separators and ;! a late model washing machine, 5 which were operated by tread- ! mill means, having a sheep to do j; the treadincr. !j The display was iu charge of Mr. Mendenhall who explained ;', the beauties of each machine as ',', it was being operated by the lj tread-mill. The ease with which they are operated by the animal j; drew forth many exclamations j of surprise and created an in- 5 terest in this class of wares that has hitherto been lacking in the general public. j; The older class of people were ;; highly interested in the display, ;', and the younger class were certainly interested in the sheep ! and the way it performed its la- j bor. The Mercantile is to be con- gratulated upon its energy and J should be successful in disposing 5 of a number of their machines, J because the beauties of each were fully brought out and it was proved conclusively that it is all folly for man or woman to wear I themselves out when the animate I can just as well as not do their 1 work for them. |
