Show HjNT BE A r DEADMEMBER . SAY SOMETHING GOOD OR i' NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT YOUR ; SCENIC ATTRACTIONS & CITY. BOOST CONSTANTLY. i ' '; Thero Is n scene 21 miles east of , T Cedar that defies the ability of man to reproduco the beauties of. The i pictures that aro painted of the Cedar Breaks aro so beautiful that they I draw expressions of wonder from t thoso who have not seen them. And t thoso who have been on the rim of ; the Breaks always say that tho real r beauty cannot be appreciated until you havo actually been among them. y There is something real, something big, about tho view as seen from the rim of Cedar Breaks that cannot be expressed on paper, or canvas. These things aro sure to make our country famous when they become known, when roads are completed to them, so that the pleasure-seeking people of America can reach the . l Breaks without hard trip3.. Good ; automobile roads will be kept up , l-' from Cedar City to tho Breaks, and ; this will mean that our-scenic attrac- , !' ' tions will be easily 'accessible. r: . The only thing that is hindering '!"' tnls development is the lack of inter- l , est from a great number of our own people. If they do not feel like say- r ing anything good about our town ?,. or our scenery, they can at least be J ffi',iii so accomodating as to keep quite and fr$m N!wn ?-, n jnock. Itrseemirthat somepeb- F pie are satisfied with what thoy have; f - they are chronic knockers and cannot ' see 'the values of their own com- ' munity, 'but can see the values of somo other. It is a" just comparison i of tho community spirit of some of ' our people lo compare them with tho I spirit of tho old cow in tho lucern ' patch. Just over tho fence" there is a corn patch and in reality there is f , . , not nearly as much feed in the corn , patch as there is in tho lucern patch ' ',; that the cow is in, but just the same T ' .i'. it is in another field and it looks bet- 'V ter to the cow; She jumps, is sorry and wishes she was back. Our citi- . zens are wading around in opportun- . , , ity, but still to some of them the fields just ahead look greener.' ; We know what wo have here, and i " still wo let tho word of someone j , from another town that is wide I enough awake to talk about their : own town argue us out of it and make us think that they have some- & thing better than we have. 1 Tourists read about the Breaks, and !ask about them; and thero is a goodly good-ly crowd of Cedar people, who when asked, rather discourage tho tourists upon going to tho Breaks. It the Breaks do not appeal to you, and you are not interested enough to boost our community through the medium of our scenic attractions, for goodness sake do not knock. In other words if you can't say something good, keep your mouth shut. A "dead member" in a town is bad enough, but a "knocker" is a liability i to any community, Get a picture of tho Breaks, see if thero is not some-' tiling that appeals to you, and then say something to boost to the next tourist that asks you about our country. |
