OO Tuesday the big battle of the ballots bal-lots was a very quiet affair throughout through-out tho county, and very little enthusiasm en-thusiasm was manafested until within with-in an hour or two of the time for closing of tho polls. Ccdnr and Parowan seemed to bo tho center of the fight for supremacy between tho republicans and democrats, demo-crats, and during tho day both party workers wcro claiming tho election by slight majorities. Nono were prepared for tho showing show-ing at conclusion of tho count of ballots, bal-lots, nnd everybody was surprised to learn thnt tho county hnd gono republican 2 to 1. Every republican county official was elected, and a majority of 480 votes enst for Bamberger, the nominee nomi-nee for United Stntes Sonntor, while Hirschi, nominee for Stao Senator received n majority over his opponent oppon-ent of 350. |
