American Legion and Service Star Legion Join With tho Pioneers in Observing Nov. 11 Tho following program will bo given next Friday, Armistico day, by tho American Legion, Service Star Legion nnd tho Daughters of Pioneers. Wo are told that Cedar was founded found-ed on November 11, 1851, and for that i-eason tho Daughters of Pioneers Pio-neers have joined with tho American and Service Star Legions in celebrating celebrat-ing that day. Tho program: 1:30 Parado. 2:30 Meeting in tho Tnbcrnaclo, with tho following program: "Tho Star Spangled Banner," congregation. con-gregation. Prayor. Selection by tho Band. "History of Cedar City," Evelyn Palmer. "Pioneer Story," Mrs. M. J. Mac-farlane. Mac-farlane. Mixed quartot. "What tho American Legion Means to tho Nation," Walter Grangor.. Vocal solo Jack Wright. Talk Wm. R. Palmer. Selection Band. Bonodiction. 5:00 P. M. lunch in tho Reliof Society So-ciety hall for ex-soldlera, their partners part-ners and Cedar's Nov. 11, 1851 Pio-ncere. Pio-ncere. 7:30 P. M. vaudeville under tho direction di-rection of tho American Logion at Ward Hall. . Vaudeville to be followed by grand ball. Tho committee on tho parado for Armistice-Pioneer day met last evening even-ing and outlined a parado program, which, If supported by the various organizations who are being- jaktA to participate, will be VeaTuro'oJ: tho occasion that will bo worthy of the day. Tho details are not all worked out, but following is tho general plan as they are trying to put it thru. Prizes of f 10, $7.50 and $5 will bo bffcred to tho three best units in tho parade. Tho city council having gen-1 crously contributed to mako this possible. Nothing of this naturo can occur, ,bf course, without being headed by our justly famous band. Tho following units will appear in tho parade: j Float, Tho Landing of Columbus i Craftsmen's club. Tho Pilgrim Fathers Membors of the- District School. j Tho Spirit of '76 Tho Ag club. ' Utah and Her Counties Girls j from tho Sixth, Seventh' and Eighth j grades. ; Education Girls' Welfaro club. Daughters of tho Pioneers Members Mem-bers of 4ho organization. Cedar City Tho. Commercial club. Service Star Legion Members, of that organization. Tho American Legion Members of that organization. Woodmen of the World Membors of that organization. Red Cross Members of that organization. or-ganization. Utah's Best Crop Children of tho lower grades. If any other person or organization organiza-tion thinkH of something tho com-mlttco com-mlttco has overlooked and would like! to compete for the generous prizes offered, tho committee will bo glad to mako a place for them in the parade.
