Invitations,, bearing the name of S. H. Wells, dSurman of the committee, are'ljbeing mailed broadcast, invitiag friends and acquaintances tojparticipate in the celebration, which promises to bo an auspicious occasion. The program 5j outlined for the two daysfolliws: FIRST$DAY. Teams will take, the visitors over the upper pjjrt of the Valley, Val-ley, showing thtjftands of that portion. At Logan the train will pick up the crowoS and proceed to St. Thomas, where the lady will drive th 'Copper Spike. There will be great big old Southern Barbtjue that will occupy some tinJi A Baseball Game, Las Vegas vs. Valley teams! The crowds will then take the trains to Overton to' look over the Exhibits and enjoy the evening, even-ing, either in dancirg or at a play given by the local Dramatic Club. ' SECOND DAY. There will be Horse Races fcr those who have fast ones a 300-yard 300-yard and a 600-yard race. The entrance feeAvill be $5.00 and the winner will take the purse. Baseball, Bunkerville and Vallej teams. Admission 25 cents. There will be a meeting at 2:00 p. m. and prominent people will give ten minute talks. A Broncho Riding Contest. Entrance fee, $2.50; prize, $5.00 silver bridle. Basketball, St. George vs. Overton. The day will end with a play by local talent. Now that the Salt Luke Route has disposed or the Moapa project, pro-ject, we trust that the' Cedar City branch will receive early consideration. |
