Show FUNNY CHRISTENSEN. The humor of the campaign is pro: moted by the naive proposal of iMr. Parley P. Christensen that Senator Harding and Governor Cox shall join him in asking the president to release re-lease Eugene V. Debs from prison, j says Harvey's Weekly. Yet the proposal pro-posal Is also something more than humorous. It is depressing to find even Mr. Christensen, who says that he loaths Mr. Debs' idea as be does death, saying that the man "is in prison for no crime other than an honest public expression of his political poli-tical views." It does not . seem to occur to him that there can be such a thing as actually criminal speech. If someone were publicly to incite arson, or . murder, Mr. Christensen would apparently hold . that he had committed com-mitted no crime other than an hon- jest expression of his social views.
