Death of An Old Resident Who Par-- Par-- ticipated in Civil War. ) (Special Correspondence) On Wednesday afternoon Mr. Michael Hasson succumbed to an attack of pneumonia, after an illness of a few days. He was an old and respected citizen of the camp, having lived here for more than twenty ears. Mr. Hasson Has-son was a G. -A. R. veteran and did active service in many of the famous j battlefields of the civil war. He was a native of County Down. Ireland, and I was 61 years of ago at the time of his i death. . His funeral occurred from the Catholic Cath-olic church Monday afternoon. Father Galligan, officiating, preached a patriotic patri-otic and eloquent tribute to the departed depart-ed soldier. Mrs. Ellen Wright had a delightful visit in Salt Lake last week. t Mr. J. H. Harrington left on Friday for St. Johns, Tooele county, where he intends to teach school during the winter win-ter term. 4 Mrs. Patrick Heenan has been quite sick for the past week. Mrs. J. Mr. Patrick Ryan spent a few days t the Belmont mine and returned to Salt Lake Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Neil O'Keefe visited with her parents at Coalville last week. Mr. John Keetly visited the metropolis metrop-olis Thursday on business. 4- Mrs. Luke McCartan has returned to Cripple Creek after a pleasant visit with friends here. Mr. James McNelis. who was so seriously se-riously injured by being crushed with the cage at the J. I. C. mine a week ago, is now reported improving by Dr. Donoher, who has charge of the patient. pa-tient. ' Mr. John Deason got a fracture of the leg above the ankle at the Alliance Sunday. He was removed to his home, the fracture reduced and made as comfortable com-fortable as possible. Mrs. John Kelly, .wife of Alderman Kelly, died Monday morning of heart failure. She was a native of Ireland and was a respected citizen, possessing many noble qualities. Mrs. Kelly leaves a hu-sband and nine children to mourn. The sympathy of the community is with them in their- bereavement. |
