Salisbury, passed away Tuesday morning a few minutes before 12 o'clock at the home of his parents in this city. The immediate immedi-ate cause of his death was acute chorea, cho-rea, which was brought oir indirectly by an attack of diphtheria while he was in school last year. Although his serious illness was of short d'uration, his health has been impaired ever since his recovery from that malady. Ten days ago, amidst preparations for his sister's wedding, he was stricken with the illness which has resulted in his iTeath. The attack was thought at first to be typhoid fever, but the symptoms rapidly developed into a case of chorea of great severity. Many of the most prominent physicians in the city were called and all that skill could devise was done, but to no purpose. The young man was in his eighteenth year, having been born Nov. 8, 18S7. He was educated in All Hallows college in this city and later in Mercersburg, Pa., where he was preparing to enter Cornell. Cor-nell. In the death of Blaine Salisbury a truly ideal home is sadly bereft, and I hundreds of friends sincerely mourn I for the fair young life so suddenly ! ended. Truly a bright life, for few ! young men had the promise of a bright-' bright-' er future. j Of a generous nature, an open, man-; man-; ly character and a warm heart that j was always moved by the kindest im-I im-I pulses, he won the love of all who l knew him.' With his winning personality, person-ality, handsome face and athletic fig-I fig-I ure. he was a noble type of fine young : manhood. I Home and parents were ever dear to ' his boyish heart and this alone would j speak volumes of his character could I nothing more be said. A brief time was I his, but with filial reverence and ten-; ten-; der affection he made life beautiful and j bright for those around him. His mis- sion of love is ended in this world, but j the tenderest memories will linger for-i for-i ever in the hearts of those who loved I him well. Into the light of heaven, with no sorrow or sin to darken his pure young soul, he is at peace, resting ; forever on the breast of the Father, " "who doeth all things well." |
