Show Diocese of Bender. DENVER. Religious Notes and Hints About Events After Easter. (Special Correspondence.) At high mass in Logan avenue chapel on Easter a select choir will render Haydn's Imperial Mass. The singers will be: Soprano, Misses 'Murphy, 'Mur-phy, Kirkpatrick, Gottesleben, King, j Brown, Mrs. Granger, and Mrs. Lewis; alto. Misses Cronover. Marion Petit- clero and Mrs. Hatch; tenor, Messrs. McPhee, Lynch and. Lewis: bass, Messrs. Sayre, Bucher, McFadden and j Granger. The sermon will be preached by the pastor, Rev, M. F. Callanan. Pontifical high mass will be sung by the right reverend bishop. Father O'Malley preached on the holy Eucharist on the evening of Holy Thursday. The sermon on the Passion Pas-sion was preached by Bishop Matz on Good Friday. ' ? - . . The Holy Week services in the pro-cathedral pro-cathedral were very well attended. S I There will be a number of Catholic weddings solemnized in the -few weeks 1 immediately following the close of the Lenten season. j The Immaculate Conception school j closed for Easter vacation on Tuesday noon. It will be resumed on Monday morning. j A first communion class for the chil- j dren attending the public schools was opened in Logan avenue chapel, last Sunday. This class, with the one re- cently organized in the Immaculate j Conception school, will receive their first holy communion in the latter part of May. ' '' Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sheedy are rejoicing re-joicing over the birth of a son. Jv The Rosary and Altar society, under the direction' of Mrs. Paul, decorated the Repository in Logan avenue chapel, which was one of the most beautiful and artistic in the city. Father White preached in the Logan I avenue chapel last Sunday evening on "The Passion." It was one of the most beautiful Lenten sermons which has been delivered in that church. The Palm Sunday services in the chapel were well attended Palms were blessed and distributed at the late mass. At the offertory Miss Murphy, whose voice is so greatly admired by the congregation, sang "The Palmist." There was no sermon. During the blessing of the palms at St. Leo's church last Sunday Mr. Butler, But-ler, the new tenor, sang "Palms."-The sermon was preached by Father Casey. Mr. Andrew MacBreen of South Twelfth street died suddenly in Trinidad Trini-dad last week. He was buried from St. Leo's on Tuesday afternoon. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss. Father O'Ryan conducted con-ducted the funeral services arid. interment inter-ment was made in Mount Calvary. Mr. Arshle of 1323 South Eleventh street died' at 2 o'clock last Tuesday afternoon. He was attended bv Father O'Ryan. The funeral of Mr. James A. Quinn took place last Sunday afternoon from the residence of his parents. Father O'Ryan conducted the services. Mrs. Smith of 1335 Lawrence street was buried, from St. Leo's last Sunday afternoon. , The Easter music at St. Leo's will be unusuallv trood. A douhlo miartetto and chorus, accompanied by Cavallo's orchestra, will sing Haydn's Second in its entirety.. The sermon will be preached by Father O'Ryan. A number of Catholic societies of the city are preparing to give dances im- -mediately after Easter. ' i A number of generous-hear ted people peo-ple are coming to the assistance of St. Vincent's orphanage. Many valuable donations have been received and the future is beginning to wear a brighter aspect. School will be resumed in a short time and work cn the new structure struc-ture begin. Our twelfth annual entertainment and ball was a grand success, thanks to our kind friends. The arrangement committee was unable to secure Professor Giles and his Colorado Colo-rado college orchestra. Miss Kitty Myles sang in place of Miss Clara Banigan. Miss Dempsey pleased her audience with "Erin's Flag." St. Mary's quartette sang very beautifully beautiful-ly Moore's "Believe Me, if All Those Endearing Young Charms." and in response re-sponse to a vigorous encore favored the admiring throng with Balfe's "Killar-ney." "Killar-ney." Professor Mercier led the prettiest pret-tiest grand inarch of the season. The A. O. H. will receive communion commu-nion in a body on Easter Sunday morning at S o'clock. Mass in St. Mary's church and will meet in Hibernian Hi-bernian hall on Easter Sunday morning morn-ing at 7:30. Joseph J. Lacey, President;' Presi-dent;' Peter Kearney, Secretary. The meeting on Thursday was given over to the arrangement committee of the last entertainment and ball. They reported it a grand financial success and presented a goodly sum to Rev.
