Show j '. BUTTE, MONT. The eighth grade exercises of ' St. Mary's school took place Friday of last week. The exercises were very well rendered. Diplomas were conferred up-pn up-pn eight graduates by Rev. Father English, who highly complimented the children upon their very creditable showing. The program of exercises was. as follows: Opening, "Sacred Heart" hymn, class; recitation. William Sullivan; Gaelic song, "The Harp," six girls; recitation, recita-tion, Agnes Harrington: pantomime, "The Annunciation," eight girls; violin selection, William Sullivan; dialogue, James McGraw and Jerry Sullivan; recitation. Catherine Hanley; vHolin selection, se-lection, William Sullivan; farewell song, graduates. The graduates are: William James Sullivan, James Michael MeGraw, Jeremiah Jer-emiah George Sullivan, William Sullivan, Sulli-van, Catherine Margaret Hanley, Agnes Ag-nes VMargaret Harrington. Frances Elizabeth Harrington, Margaret Mary McCarthy. The past week has been one of deep interest for the ladies of St. Patrick's parish, who have attended the mission at St. Patrick's church in large numbers. num-bers. The two masses each morning were as well attended as they were last Sunday. The .attendance at the evening services was so large each day that many were unable to gain admission. admis-sion. Every foot of space was occupied. occu-pied. The strictest attention was given to the instructions ani sermons. The learning, practical words ami eloquence el-oquence lof Fathers Dougherty, Drumm and 'Rohlman, the missionaries in charge, made a splendid impression on everyone who heard them. The missionaries are delighted with the interest manifested in the mission. They have eleclared that the interest, size and earnestness ofthe congregations congrega-tions was a source of great inspiration for them. ' Father De Siere, pastor of the church, and his two assistants are more than pleased with the success of the mission mis-sion and the interest shown by the members of the parish. They are sure the results of the mission will be lasting, last-ing, because of the zeal and untiring efforts of the Dubuque Apostolate or missionary band.. The closing service of the women's mission will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon, when the final message will be delivered and the Apostolic blessing will be given to all the ladles who have attended the mission. The children were not forgotten, special spe-cial instruction being given to them twice each day during the first three days of the week. On Wednesday afternoon aft-ernoon more than 1,000 children were in the church to receive ahe Apostolic blessing. |
