Show MANY PILGRIMS SAIL FOR ROME. Nearly 200 Catholic pilgrims sailed from New York on Tuesday, July 10, for Rome. One hundred and twenty-five twenty-five sailed on the Pannonia and the remainder on the Europa. The pilgrimage is under the spiritual direction of Bishop Augustine Van De Vyver of Richmond, Va., who is on the Pannonia, and the journey is conducted conduct-ed by John J. McGrane, K. S. G. The two vessels will, if possible, be kept close enough together for easy wireless communication throughout the voyage. The pilgrims came from all parts of the United States, only twenty being residents of New York City. They will see the pope and after staying a month at .Rome will attend the Passion Play. Other places in the itinerary Include Florence, Venice, Mi-Ian, Mi-Ian, Lucerne and Strasburg. A week will be spent in Paris, four days in London and two weeks in Ireland. Ire-land. The return sailing will be at QueenstoVn on September 18 'on the steamer Lusitania. |
