Show T0N0PAH, NEV. j (Special Correspondence.) Mrs. J. J. Degan and family have returned re-turned from California, where they have spent the past month. Miss Anita Degan will remain in San Francisco to attend High school. Mr. and Mrs. James McQuIllen and family and Mrs. William Douglass and family left in a large automobile for the northwestern part of the state for to be gone a month. The Boston Bloomer Girls played ball in Tonopah last Thursday with the Elks-Eagles, the latter winning by a high score; in fact, the Bloomers could not play ball at all. Mrs. J. E. McNamara has returned from California. Tonopah's new Mizpah hotel, now nearlng completion, will be equal to any in the state and will cost, aside from furnishings, $150,000. It is five stories high, of brick and stone. Mr. George E. Holesvvorth, the architect In charge of the structure, has every reason rea-son to be proud of his work. The Tonopah brass band serenaded at the homes of Congressman George A. Bartlett and Judga-J. P. O'Brien at the latter's home. Chief Justice George F. Talbot was a guest. All are recently re-cently renominated candidates. They showed their appreciation of the compliment com-pliment and were loud in their praise of the efficiency of the players. |
