Miss Margaret Hailey spent a few days in Ogden last week visiting Mrs. Fred Luckett. Mrs. O. J. Salisbury and Miss Salisbury Salis-bury will spend the next few weeks at St. Mary's academy, Notre Dame, Ind. E. G. O'Donnell has returned from a visit to the Eutonia mine at Tooele. A jolly crowd of friends met last week and planned a delightful surprise on Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kirk. A merry mer-ry time was spent in playing cards and games. Mr. Kirk thinks surprise parties a most enjoyable form of entertainment. en-tertainment. The Misses O'Brien entertained last Saturday evening at their home on Third street in honor of their guest, Miss Addie Walker, of Park City. Among those seen were Rev. Father Galligan. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Connelley, j James Harrington. M. J. Daly, Bart- I ley McDonough. James Duffy. W. J. Buck, Miss Agnes Harrington, Mrs. T. j L. Powers, Mrs. J. Galligan and many j others. I The members of the Utopia Card j club were charmingly entertained on J Wednesday afternoon by Mis. J. C. Hanchett at her elegant new home on East Second South. A very enjoyable time was had. a pleasing feature of the afternoon being many instrumental instrumen-tal selections by Mrs. A. H. Peabody. The house was beautiful with a profusion pro-fusion of cut roses, ferns and palms. The first prize was won by Mrs. E. A. Wall; the lone hand, by Miss Reed, while the consolation was awarded to Mrs. P. J. Moran. Mrs. Hanchett is a charming hostess and her guests will long remember her hospitality. The club will be next entertained by Mrs. A. T. Kimball at 327 South West Temple. |
