The concert given Tuesday evening at the Margaret theatre for the benefit of St. Peter's Church organ fund was one of the greatest financial successes of any religious benefit in the history of Anaconda. At High Mass on Sunday morning Father Callahan, pastor of St. Peter's Church, announced that the receipts of the concert had been $784 and the expenses ex-penses about $113. The net receipts were $645.30. Father Callahan thanked Father McCorry, who delivered the lecture, lec-ture, and also the ladies who had taken part in the entertainment. Miss Mary G. McCabe and Miss Helena M. Gieeson, who were practically practi-cally the organizers of the concert, are delighted with the success of the affair. Said Miss McCabe yesterday: "Everybody worked hard, and all are I amply repaid by the success of the concert. con-cert. We were greatly encouraged by all our friends. Why. we realized $67.50 for the fund from the. adds published in the programme. St. Peter's organ fund needed the money, and now that we have it we are happy." New Catholic Club. Anaconda, Nov. 28. The Anaconda Catholic club is a fact. Temporary organization or-ganization was effected at an. enthusiastic enthu-siastic meeting held on the-evening of Nov. 25 at A. O. H. hall. More than 100 of the 150 and more who have signed the roil were present. Those who were absent were so onlv because they were on night shift. The meeting was called to order by James P. Foley, chairman of the organization or-ganization committee, who stated Uhe objects of the club. Temporary officers then were chosen as follows: Chairman. J. E. McDonnell; vice chairman, Peter Towey; secretary, W. J. Walsh; treasurer, L. F. Verberck-moes. Verberck-moes. The following committee was appointed ap-pointed to examine applications for membership. The chairman and se-.'e-tary with George J. Cannon, H. S. Taber, James P. Foley, James O'Mara and Thomas D. Flynn were' named as the executive committee. It was given power to select permanent quarters for the club from a number of places which have been examined and reported on by the organization committee. For the inauguration ball to be given Dec. 1 the following committee on arrangements ar-rangements was appointed: W. H. Hvnes. P. J. Gardner. Peter Towey, T. F. Murphy and Frank McDonnell. The meeting adjourned to meet informally in-formally at the ball on the night of Dec. 1. A meeting Will be called to effect permanent organization. In the meantime the charter membership roll Will be kept open and applications will be received by L. F. Verberckmoes. After the meeting the various committees com-mittees met. At the meeting of the inauguration ball committee the following fol-lowing sub-committee were named: Floor J. E. McDonnell, manager; William Clark, R. T. Flannigan. Vincent Vin-cent McMullen, R. E. H. hall was crowded on the evening of Nov. 24, on the occasion of! the celebrating the thirty-second anni- I versary of the death of the Manchester ; martyrs. It is customary for the Hi- . bernians to celebrate this important , anniversary, and Anaconda did it in roya! style. The programme of the evening was as follows: Opening remarks, President William j Kelliher; selection. A. O. H. fife and drum corps; recitation, T. J. Kelly; vocal duet, Misses O'Brien; remarks, Rev. Father Foiled; vocal solo, Mrs. ' Thomas Leonard: vocal solo, Michael Healy; vocal solo, Andy Mahoney; piano selection. Master T. F. Kelly; vocal solo. Misses' Dorian; vocal solo. Miss Nellie Long: vecal solo, William Weldon: remarks. Thomas J. Kelly; "God Save Ireland." audience. After the rendering of the above programme" the audience retired to the large hall, where there was dancing until a late hour.
