Show Social and Personal. John Owens of Leadville is in Denver for the stock show. Leonard Doss has completely recovered recov-ered from the illness that for a time threatened to prove fatal. During his absence the parochial duties are in the hands of Rev. William J. Ryan, who recently came to Denver from Cripple Creek. i'f Rev. Cornelius O'Farrell of Montrose, Colo., was a visitor to Denver during the week. He assisted at the services at St. Leo's church last Sunday, and preached the sermon at 10:30 o'clock mass. Father O'Farrell was assistant priest at St. Leo's some years ago, and his many friends were glad to see him. State Senator T. J. McCue has returned re-turned from Kansas City, but Mrs. McCue Mc-Cue will remain longer with her sister. Mr. and Mrs. McCue were called to Pittsburg, Kan., on Christmas by the death of a brother-in-law. Later they visited Kansas City. Mrs. Walter F. Daily of 111 East Second Sec-ond avenue, underwent a successful operation op-eration last Thursday at Mercy hospital. hos-pital. ' f Baroness Von Reitzenstein of Berlin, who is visiting her sister, Mrs. J. J. Brown, was a guest of honor at an after-theatre supper given at the Savoy Tuesday evening by Mrs. Brown. sjt Mrs. Frank Kelly was ill during the week at her home, 3132 Stout street. Miss Rose Longan paid a brief visit to friends in Fort Collins recently. Mrs. George W. Prior and little Marie Prior will go to San Diego soon for the balance of the winter. :i Mrs. George T. Kearns, who has been quite ill at her home, 1351 Grant avenue, is very much improved. 'r Mrs. J. V. Swift is very ill at her home, 1122 Ogden street. if Mrs. Willis Hulings, who has been dangerously ill at her home in Mexico, is now very much better. When able to undertake the Journey, Mrs. Hulings will come to Denver, where she and Mr. Hulings will spend some months with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Andrew, 1316 Columbine Co-lumbine street, the parents of Mrs. Hulings. Miss Julia McLaughlin entertained the Friday 500 club last week at her home, 1320 St. Paul street. Mr. and Mrs. Edmund M. Ryan entertained en-tertained the members of their card club Thursday evening, January 6, at their home, 1450 Marym street. Mrs. Shay is very ill at her home, 1719 Emerson street. The Queen's Daughters met Saturday Satur-day afternoon, January S, at the home of Mrs. Joseph As Osner, 337 Broadway. The new year-book has just come from the publishers, and is a very attractive piece of work. High mass of requiem was sung in Logan avenue chapel on Friday, January Jan-uary 14. by Rev. J. F. McDonough, for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Ann Mc-Callin, Mc-Callin, it being the first anniversary of her death. The auditors of St. Vincent's Aid society so-ciety will meet and examine the books of the society Friday evening at the home of P. H. Riordan, 1206 West Colfax Col-fax avenue. Seven masses will hereafter be read each Sunday in Logan avenue chapel. Following is the order: 6, 7, S, 9, 9:45, 10:30 and 11:30 o'clock, the last a high mass. This will relieve the congested condition of the chapel and enable all to secure seats. The change in hours takes effect Sunday, January 16. |
