Show I T0N0PAH, NEV. j i (Special Correspondence.) Arrangements are being made to entertain en-tertain the delegates to the state convention, con-vention, which will convene in Tonopah on the 31st. Quite a large sum has already al-ready been collected to help toward the entertainment, and the local Democratic Demo-cratic club is getting busy, so we can expect something great. Miss Esther Wickham and Miss Moore were Tonopah visitors from Round Mountain this past week. Miss Wickham has been teaching in Smoky-valley Smoky-valley for the past term. Mrs. Hyland and the Misses Hyland left for Los Angeles for a vacation of a month. Miss Winnifred Tarpey has returned to school in Palo Alto. The fire laddies have issued an invitation invi-tation to the police force to play ball, and the invitation has been accepted. So we can look forward to an amusing game as soon as Chief Malley's hand gets better. The Weeks-Dougherty match at the Casino Wednesday night attracted an immense crowd. The match was won by Weeks in the fourth round. There is quite an improvement in the attendance of the altar boys since the classes have been started for their instruction. in-struction. I |
