Show KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS NOTES. George Lindsay of Danville, N. T., council was a visiting member at the meeting Tuesday evening. Mr. Lindsay intends making Salt Lake his home, and we have no doubt but he will be a valuable val-uable addition to Salt Lake council. The members were a little slow in getting around for the last meeting, but even though the meeting was called to order a little later than usual, it turned out to be the best meeting of the new year. The talk by W. P. O'Meara was enjoyed to the utmost by all. We don't know whether it was O'Meara's talk or merely his presence that seemed to spread about a contagion of wit, but it was just one continuous flash from different dif-ferent parts of the room throughout the entire evening. Everyone was responsive, respon-sive, and Advocate Finnegan . complained com-plained that he didn't have an opportunity oppor-tunity to earn his salary. When It came W. H. Leary's turn, he had to talk pretty loud to make those in the back room (who were crowded out for lack of space in the main hall) hear him, but Leary is right there when it comes to that, and he not only made everyone hear him, but by his continuous outpour out-pour of humor he made the rooms resound re-sound with laughter. Lecturer Fanning has something new up his sleeve every week in the way of entertainment. We will have to hurry that "new home" along in order to find room for the increased attendance. A large attendance Is expected next Tuesday evening to hear the debate between be-tween George Jay Gibson and William H. Leary. Mr. Leary Is one of the newer members in the order, but is taking tak-ing a very active interest In the work, and Mr. Gibson also being an active worker and an old "standby" in the order, we are looking for a rousing meeting to enjoy the good things these two Salt Lake attorneys have in store for us. T. F. Callahan of Ely council is very 111 at Keogh-Hammond hospital. Don't forget the , big Gibson-Leary debate next Tuesday evening. |
