Show The Cathedral Altar Society. At tho !) o'clock mass last Sunday, Rt. Ki-v. Bishop Scania n paid a glowing glow-ing tributo to the members of the Altar Al-tar society of the Cathedral. The Bishop Bish-op spoke particularly of tho spiritual advantages of the society, and then of the practical work done by the members. mem-bers. He touched upon the beautiful "rose" window in the choir loft, and of the donation toward the pews. By the way, the- Altar society would not have to pay toward the pews if the many who promised to give pews had "made good." The Bishop expressed the wish that every man. woman and child in the parish would join the society. In looking look-ing over the list of active paying members, mem-bers, one name, that of little Margaret Blaine McCornick, appears. She is the wee daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. McCornick and grand-daughter of Mrs. Margaret Blaine Salisbury, and was enrolled en-rolled in the Altar society by her ador ing grandmother. Beginning right this month, through Mrs. Salisbury's example, exam-ple, a membership of little children wilT be organized and all the little girls and boys of the Cathedral parish will oe enrolled as members. Nothing could give Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan more pleasure than this, the offering of-fering of the little ones whom he loves, toward the Altar society. St. Mary's Cathedral will have the distinction of being the only parish in America where the little children are members of an Altar society. The officers of the society are Mrs. C. C.
