Robertson announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret R., to Dr. Archibald A. Kerr-The Kerr-The marriage will take place early in June, and Miss Robertson will.continue her musical work again next year. f ': Ed F. Freudenthal has returned from an extended eastern trip. IT. R. Fulton of this city, who is studying medicine at Johns Hopkins university, has returned home for the summer. - f Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bamberger returned re-turned from the east last week. George Jay Gibson will attend the, annual an-nual convention of the National Coun- : cil of the Knights of Columbus, at Louisville, June 7, and the convention of the Sons of the American Revolution at St. Louis June 15-16. . Miss Cosgr iff,' Miss Elizabeth Cosgriff and James E. Cosgriff entertained at one of the largest and most delightful card parties of the season at the Ken-yon Ken-yon Tuesday evening. Beautiful floral decorations added beauty and fragrance frag-rance to the parlors. Assisting in entertaining en-tertaining were Mrs. J. B. Cosgriff.. Miss Eloise Sherman, Miss McGrath, and Mrs. Salisbury. . - ' Superintendent Harry Colvin of the Bamberger-De Lamar' mill at De Lamar, La-mar, New, is in the city again. - Miss Helen Earls of Eureka is in Salt Lake visiting her mother. . Miss Edythe Hale will return from Stanford about the 20th of Mav. Mrs. Judge. Miss Judge and Frank Judge are making a trip through southern California. - - James J. Brown gave a delightful "children's tree party" recently. In honor of little Huldarose's birthday. The dining room table was covered with good things to eat cakes.- nuts, candiea Easter eggs, bananas and popcorn. pop-corn. The chief ornament was, a large square birthday cake, with eleven col-I col-I ored candles. The lucky dime found in I this cake was won by Margaret Fitzgerald. Fitz-gerald. Evelyn Moyle and Arthur Ber-ryman Ber-ryman won the two first prizes for the guessing "invitation ' contest," and Vivian Smith received the "booby.". In the parlor was a beautiful evergreen tree with its handsome ornaments and trimmings. Games were played and the afternoon after-noon was greatly enjoyed by forty little people. Rosemary Holland entertained; in honor of Miss Jennie Earls last Friday Fri-day evening. Miss Annie Johnson of Eureka, Nev., is visiting Miss Florence Dow. Henry Morrison resigned his position as advertising solicitor for the Herald and left Tuesday for the east, where he intends to enter into business. Mr. Morrison has lived in Salt Lake for the past five years, and during this time he won a legion of friends in both business and social cir cles who deeply regret his departure. He is an enthusiastic Knight of Columbus, Co-lumbus, being a charter member of the Salt Lake council. An informal reception recep-tion was tendered him last week by his brother knights, who presented him with a handsome watch charm. The best wishes of all will follow Mr. Morrison Mor-rison in his new field. Mrs. T. L. Powers and familv, who spent the winter in Salt Lake, have returned re-turned to Park Citv. |
