Show commissioners commissio nees proceedings th the county commissioners mot met in regular session tuesday with all members pro present ent J sax of black hawk requested ebat tho license ishad to him for the sale of liquor ai at that place be taken up and revoked giving as his reason that ai h he was nr rin longer con nested with the saloon that tho the license was issued in his name and as the saloon was being kept open sundays and permitted gambling ho lie wanted tho the license cancelled tho the license was revoked as ho lie requested and in this connection a resolution i wa was passed that no payment by tho the county will hereafter be madi made to john thursten for services as deputy sh riff orliff at black hawk tho county attorney met with the commissioners and read the demurrer and answer in the caso case of N S nielson against carbon county tho clerk asked for a new now typewriter abich wa was given him fred rice wa was present and liked asked that the county furnish enough lumber to repair some bridges coith of miller creek crack the lumber was ordered and mr rice was employed to look after the repairs juvenile officer harmon recommended that mn mrs H C palmer of wellington a widow aged 73 be allowed assistance to the extent of 5 per month granted the allowance of mrs pierce of tho the same town was cut from 10 to 5 per month A resolution passed giving the independent coal coke company the eriv privilege alego of constructing a coal conveyor across the county road to connect their pumping plant with the A it G road the resolution provides that the conveyor shall be built in a substantial manner and at least 16 feet above the road john A powell jr asked the board for assistance for mrs mary ann fosgreen an aged and bedridden widow who had to have constant care and attendance an additional di dit 10 a month was grunted granted to con continue dinue for tho next three months at the end of which time mr powell waa was instructed to report to the commissioners ners L 0 hoffman was retained to assist the county attorney in defending the case of N S neilson against carbon county mrs blanch jones was given an order for 1250 in groceries J W hammond presented pres anted his bond for 10 which was approve ed and he was granted a license as abstractor abstracter the bill ol 01 roseltha ba powell for for a right of way riven some time since was allowed and the sum of borrowed from the helper state bank was ordered paid board then adjourned to dec 16 |
