In preparation of your arrival we have arranged several festivities, and we are going to ask you to go with us on Christrnas Eve to decorate our church. You know, although this is quite a little colony, we like to live in rural style, and we like to do all the little details of housekeeping and such things together. Now we have had built a chapel so that we will not have so far to go to church and so that we may all take a personal interest in it. For this reason wo have jecided to spend a part of Christmas Eve at the church. I am very anxious to have you meet my pleasant neighbors, for they are so very, very nice. I know you will like Mrs. Morrison, she is such an attractive woman; and you will love her clothes, for she does have the very best taste. She wears at the present moment a most fascinating suit of brown serge, buttoned up the left side with braid frogs and simulated buttonholes of rat-tail sraid. The line of the neck is somewhat low, and she has revers of black satin ~ with a band of deep orange to tone in with the brown of the dress. With this gown she wears tucked guimpes of chiffon, nainsook or net. She is such a practical woman, too, and she is so very helpful. It is owing to her that we have planned and done so many thingsAt Christmas tirne she is going to have a girl with her who is somewhat your own age, and her name is Delia Deland. She has been visiting her for the last. week and has now gone away, but she expects to return again for the holidays. She has a most attractive broadcloth suit, with a high empire skirt, and with this she wears a one-piece black doublecoat with a black satin vest made broadcloth The waist, breasted and fastened with turquoise buttons. which finishes the costume, is ecru flannel, with a high collar, of the sleevca The tic. silk black a wenrs she with which blouse are by far the most important details, for they are of the tucked kind. I call them shingled, for each tuck overlaps the other Be sure to come to us the day you promised, for we #re \\Y \ aS \' oF ij looking for you anxiously. Always MADGE. |
