During the session of the legislature in 1905, a committee from the Salt Lake Real Estate association obtained the passage of a resolution whereby the people of the state might express their desires by vote as to the taxing of mortgages. The vote was carried in the negative at the election § in November last, by a large majority. The association, by its board of goyernors, yesterday called on Attorney General M. A. Breeden, to inqulre if any i gd wa on the part of the necessary in the premises, and was informed that in xg opinion, no further action was neces sary, that the amendment to the cén= stitution of the state as voted for by the people was self-acting, and that he had so advised the assessors of the various counties throughout the state.
