Show INFO INFORMATION l ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY ACT The following brief notes on the Social Security laws are published to assist employers In filing the proper reports at this time Reports for 1936 State Unemployment ment Insurance care of the Industrial Commission of Utah Report due January IS 15 1937 for all aU employers of four or OT more more- This will be more or less a skeleton report on gross payroll for 1936 Rate of tax payable nine nine- tenths of 1 per cent on gross pay pay- roll t Federal Old Age Age- Annuity report for 1036 1936 due dut on or before February 1 I 1037 1137 on gross payroll of 1936 at rate of 1 per cent for all aU employers of eight or more On the Federal return there Is La to be deducted 90 percent of the amount paid to the State Unemployment Fund These Thes two reports covering the I year 1936 are arc more or less skeleton I and should not be confused with the I requirements of the Act which beI beI becomes be be- comes effective January 1 I 1937 I wherein whereby all employers of 1 or more will contribute 1 percent and em em- will contribute 1 I per cent Employers are charged with the responsibility of making mILking collection from employees and remitting to the Collector of Internal Revenue Also those employing four lour or more will be required to make monthly returns and payments to the State Fund Fune However those employing le lets s than four may voluntarily elect to come corne under the State Un- Un Law In which case they will be permitted to make de deduction on Federal return of 90 per cent of the amount paid to the State Fund Next week we will present more Information concerning the various reports and payments which willbe will willbe be due monthly beginning January 1 I 1937 and must be filed not later than the day of the month following the month on which the report Is filed |
