Show VISUAL EDUCATION IN TilE THE CEDAR CITY SC SCHOOLS For some come time past It has been the desire of the cedar City Schools to offer a program In Visual Education to the students to further motivate and stimulate the learning of Important Import import- ant Information and appreciation of industries and natural resources There 1 is no teacher equal to the eye and comparatively few students have the opportunity to see the things about which they study especially those of a 8 foreign nature I Some schools already have their own picture machine for making as well ai as ail showing the type of picture they wish Through this method many things studied and otherwise can eRn be made real in the life of the child It has been the privilege of the Cedar Cedar Ce- Ce dar schools during the past month to enjoy a real treat in this field through the courte courtesy y of the National Forest Service under the direction of Forest Ranger Ed P P. P Cox of the Mantl Manti District Dis District now working at the camps In Southern Utah through the Dixie National National National Na Na- Forest Service Mr Cox Has been visiting the schools each neb Wednesday and showing from four lour to six reels of educational pictures pictures pic pic- tures to the students from the first to the ninth grades Inclusive fitting the subject ct matter appropriately Some of the features shown the past month are as follows The Cotton In Industry Industry Industry In- In The Work of the Weather Bureau Protection of Forests Lumbering Lumbering Lum Lum- bering and Milling The Cougar Hunt Hardwood and Uses and many other Interesting tend and educational subjects These are given free to the school entirely for educational and appreciative tive purposes The schools appreciate this most valuable valuable val val- service given them through the Forest Service and hope that thai It can be continued The students look forward forward forward for for- ward to Wednesday when they enjoy this rare treat of information an and en en- en nt n- n t |
