A HIGBEE HELD SUNDAY Funeral services for Samuel Alonzo who died of cerebral hemorrhage hemorrhage hemorrhage hemor hemor- early Friday morning were held In the tabernacle Sunday afternoon with D. D L. L Sargent of the Third Ward officiating The services were opened with a selection se selection selection se- se lection from the Third Ward choir with Miss Luree Gardner Jones and Vernon Jones soloists ac accompanied accompanied accompanied ac- ac companied on the plano piano by Mrs Virginia Virginia Virginia Vir Vir- ginia Larson The opening prayer was offered by Samuel F. F Leigh A string trio consisting of Virginia Larson M. M L. L Done and Roy Halverson then played Forgotten Lehi Lehl W. S Seminary was as the next speak speak- er He told of his experiences when he first came to Cedar City three or four years ago at which time he and his wife ife lived at the Higbee home He said the outstanding characteristics of Bro HIgbee that appealed to him was his his his' the personality of Bro HIgbee was wonderful hospitality his congeniality typical of the western pioneer He was and always full of good cheer He said he believed that personality personality personality per per- lived on after the body had returned to dust and we could be comforted comforted comforted com com- forted in the thought that even tho Bro Dro Higbee had died his personality lived on with us always He quoted fro from the Bible Bible- passages promising a alife alife alife life in the hereafter and expressed I himself as confident that the family faintly I of Bro Higbee would be be- united once again A solo Teach Me to Pray by Hazel Granger Oranger accompanied by Mrs Larson and Roy Halverson was the next num num- ber A poem dedicated to Mrs Higbee and family was then read by Mrs Wake Wake- ling linK Bishop Walter K Granger Oranger of the Third Ward was the concluding speak speak- er He agreed with the things the theother theother theother other speakers had bad said and assured the family he could not speak to highly highly high high- ly of Bro Higbee as well as those he had left to mourn his departure He commented at some length on the musical talent displayed by the family and said that Bro HIgbee had w wit it that his children had all aU the op possible in the educational musical line He was always a ib it appreciate and enjoy the things children enjoyed In closing be he it passage from the Scriptures D.
