M P Perry rry regarding the refunding of certain city bonds and also a report from R. R S. S Winter Winter- rose and Mrs Dewey Dewcy Thorley members members members mem mem- bers of the council who were appointed appoint appoint- ed at the last meeting to negotiate with the Dixie Po Power r Co with regards to the cost of the lighting in the city The council has authorized the re refunding refunding refunding re- re funding of In bonds which mature mature mature ma ma- ture in May and which it will be difficult difficult difficult dif dif- dif dif- to retire at that time The sale of tax anticipation notes for operating operating operating oper oper- expenses would be about the only way possible to retire the bonds and inasmuch as there Is no sale ule for for anticipation notes the refunding plan seems to be the only plan available avail avail- able Mr Perry has been Investigating ing the possibility of refunding and will report to the council tonight Mrs Thorley and Mr were were appointed to negotiate for a reduction redu re- re re reduction du from the Dixie Power Co In Inch ch charges for city lighting Under the present arrangement the city pays the he power 4 c approximately per month and the council feels that this should be reduced under present conditions The charge for city lights Is 3 per month each for ten main maln street lights each a month for another ten SUO each tach for one group and each for another Fifteen I per cent is added for the replacement ent of ot globes etc which brings the total I up to |
