| Show Preliminary Pertinent Political Pointers o 0 0 Several readers of or the Record have approached the editor asking asking ask ask- ing if there is not some political news that might be published that would tend to let them know how the wind is blowing in political circles especially the Fifth Judicial District and believe believe be be- lieve us the said political district is some circle at the present time Here is what we have gleaned politically within the past few days Jays all of it republican the democrats not yet et having chirped no so lO far as we are able to learn The he republican party workers have put in the field or claim to have done clone so Roy Cox of St. St George for District Judge and h have vc pledged themselves to support him in the race for lor nomination nomination nomination nomina nomina- tion although things might develop so that they could trade this support to some one for judgeship getting in return support for nomination of district attorney It is expected that this trading if jf it should go through would be given to a gentleman named Larsen Larson of Millard County Larsen however is not very widely known and it is doubtful if he will be recognized in the convention although he might get a complimentary vote or two for appearance appearance appear- appear ance t sake Cox Gox as we view it will not even get base for nomination as Judge being too young so we are arc informed and andt t 4 the support he might ge get from rom any Larsen delegates would not help hs 9 any for district dis attorney Of course Judge Burton is in the race for and election lection and his friends claim that he will have the solid support of f Juab county which we doubt the west end not being over overenthusiastic enthusiastic he also is said to have a chance at solid support in invest west vest Millard Nest Beaver and the up-river up district of Washington Washing Washing- ton county and anti a slight foothold in the north end of Iron count county investigated all aU these sections through reliable sources and und we cannot conscientiously say that Judge Burton has as much strength as his friends who are supporting him would have us believe Wm Vim Higgins we und understand nd is also in the race but we have faired to find any place in the district that will support him unless un- un less it might be Fillmore and one Fillmore gentleman told us that thatTie Tie the do doubted that Higgins was at all seriously thought of as probable probable able table judge timber in Fillmore Be that as it ma may we have been i informed that he has his hat in the ring anyway t of Millard county is being put forward by a number I.
