| Show THE HON JOHN M ZANE AND G H GANAWAY SEVERAL years ago mr G H ganaway was ejected from the salt lake theater and he employed the hon john M zane to try his cause at the bar on last tuesday mr zane met mr ganaway upon the street and when he became cognizant of the fact that the latter was a democrat and WAS working in the interest of the hon R N baskin and against his father judge zane the lion hon john M became very indignant and he informed mr ganaway that he had no further use for him or words to that effect and that he did not desire to continue as his attorn attorney ev in his case in justice to mr gan ganaway away we must say that he very politely informed sir mr zane that it was immaterial to him whether he nir mr zane desired to proceed with the case and that no influence which he could exert would prevent him from working and voting for ex mayor R N baskin who had appointed more colored men to office in this city than all the republicans public ans combined this is a sample of the low and contemptible methods which many of the leaders of the republican party resort to in order to crush crash out the free and independent spirit which should lodge within the breast of every american citizen and we regret to say that mr zane is a representative of that claza class of republicans wio entertain the idea that no negro 0 has the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness unless he it is perfectly willing to become the poh political slave of the grand old party |
