| Show COUNTY LERK OF COUNTS SALARIES AND maintenance for the rear for the year vear 1897 saving to the county in one year 72 salaries and maintenance from january 1st ast to june 30 1897 15 indicating that there has been no increase in the expense of running runn ing i the office the work in in the county clerks office has been largely increased under the new law which requires the clerk to do a considerable portion of the probate business which the judges previously performed under ane old law the new law has also added to the clerks duties dutie that of registrar of deaths and I 1 births the work in in the district courts has been at least one fourth greater in 1897 and 1898 than in in previous years as evidenced by the fact that nearly one third more cases have been disposed of in in court leaving the trial calendar instead of more than two vears behind as it was in january 1897 scarcely one year behind at the present time all this extra work has been performed by a reduced force 0 ace compared with the office force 0 of f 1896 the above report or statement re reflects fl acts great credit upon D C daubar forthe for the efficient manner in i which he has bas conducted the affairs pertaining to the office which he now holds and the taxpayers and ill al others who are interested in the W welfare elfare of this coant county y ought to reward mr dunbar for the labor wh which ich he has hon honestly ertly and faith f ully folly performed by reelecting electing re him derk clerk of salt lake Con county rity |
