W Bergstrom was born Oct 11 1852 on the Island of Sweden He received what education was obtainable at that place in three years between the age of ot 8 and 11 years lie He then went to work in his fathers father's shoe sho shop and worked until until until un un- til about 18 years of age when he began a four years apprenticeship as asa asa asa a tanner Leaving Sweden as a master mae mas ter ter tanner he was determined to see seethe seethe seethe the world and worked at his trade in his travels from city to city It was while thus engaged that he came in contact with Mormon missionaries and through Elder Bengt Nelson was brought to Cedar City to work as a tanner for the Old operative Co-operative Co in 1878 lie He was married to Caroline in 1879 from which lion nion there was born two children Ku Kr and Fritz both of whom died a number of years ago IRIS Ills wife died in 1883 and later in 1885 he married Phebe I Wood of this city six children being i born to them two of whom have passed passed pass pass- I ed to the other shore I 0 O.
