A. A C C. C The summary of his speech is as follows fol fol- lows The greatest development ever made at the D. D AC has been made since 1021 1921 and 1022 1922 Scholastic ratings ratings rat rat- ings Inge of an Institution are determined largely by its faculty In 21 1920 there here was on n the faculty of the D B. B A. A C. C one teacher with a master de dew degree gr gree e 10 teachers with bachelor de dew degrees degrees grees and five teachers without de- de grees grees At that time practically none of the teachers were doing summer school chool or advanced work The enrollment enrollment enroll enroll- ment meat in the colle college e in 1921 1021 for far the High School division was 0 DO and ami forthe forthe for forthe the Junior College division was 5 b with a total including specials and Intermediates in intermediates In In- of HI In the spring of 1021 1921 there were graduated from the B. B A. A C. C Cf college and high school combined combined com com- lined 20 students During this year the courses offered at the B. B A. A C. C were open to both high school and college students which meant that the value of the college co courses was not at par with the higher institutions I because of the high school students entering them With the coming of the new administration in 1022 1922 came camei i a. a change in policy The first move tot of or the administration was to bring the faculty up to a scholastic stan stan- dard Within the next six years the faculty ac has made a complete change Every one of the old members who remain ln on the faculty today h Have ve been blen away for advanced degree work New members picked because of their scholastic attainments have been added add add- oed ed d to the faculty These new members members mem memo bers have either acquired a n masters degree or Ir are working toward one So today in contrast with 21 1920 there ere are on the faculty seven seven men with masters degrees two men who have nearly completed their work for I P. P II D. D degrees and eleven cleven men with bachelor bac degrees and two without degres degrees de dew grees gres but these two are especially trained in their respective lines in which degrees are arc not often given The faculty today is taking its place with Junior College faculties of ot the United States One member of the B. B A. A C. C Wm II Manning head of the Music Department has been offered offer offer- ed a position on the Chicago University University University Uni Uni- of Mu Music ic faculty f for r the three following summers Bummers The enrollment in the last seven years has grown ninety to in the high school but during this time we have eliminated eliminated eliminated the first year high school work which if added would make the total around round The college enrollment has grown from five in 1020 1920 to 81 in A school can can- best be Judged by the number of graduates it is turning out and this will alro alto judge its growth In 1027 1927 the B. B A. A C C. C faculty now provide that no student student student stu stu- dent can remain a member of the school who fails in more than five hours of his work if he be a college collego student In summary Mr Hendricks pointed out first that the B. B A. A C C. C is now a Jr College in the scholarship of its faculty in Its course course of study and in Its policy polley that the U U. U of U. U and the theU U U. U A. A C C. C recognizes and accepts the credits from the B. B A. A C. C that as far faras faras faras as the high school is concerned the B B. B A A.
