Show j f CENTERFIELD I 1 Mrs. Gilbert Fjeldsted, Ccrr. : 0 o I Big Banquet Enjoyed. An event long to be remembered by the young people of Centerfield was the M Men and Gleaner Girls' banquet, held in the ward meeting house Wednesday evening of last week. At six o'clock the guests were seated at long tables in the recreation hall. The table decorations were carried car-ried out in green and gold, and spring : flowers in a green bowl formed the centerpiece, with gold tapers in green holders on either side. Gold colored napkns were used, and potted ivies were at the far ends of the table. The color scheme was also carried j out in the menu. Hot chicken and the j "fixins' " formed1 the main course of ! the banquet. Miss Berniece Sorensonj acted as toastmistress of the evening, I and La von Sorenson welcomed the guests. Miss Arda Peterson gave a toast to the M" Men and Alvin Barlow ' gave a toast to the Gleaner Girls. President Hansen gave a toast to j the M. I. A., and responses were giv-I giv-I en by Miss Ruth Peterson and Glen Myrup. Musical number were as follows: Piano solo, Ilean Hansen; selection, ladies' chorus; trumpet duet, Grant Harris and Woodrow Beck; solo, Veda Jensen. Eighty were . present at the banquet. The serving ! was done by Junior and Beehive Girls, who wore green and gold aprons and caps. After the banquet the hall was cleared and dancing was enjoyed, to which the public . was invited. Music 1 was furnished by the Centerfield or- I chestra. presented, entitled "A Friend of the Family." This play will also be presented pre-sented at slake honor day. Mrs. Veda Jensen is spending this week at Ephraim, visiting with friends and relatives. Hcnoml on Anniversary. Thirty-two, all descendants of Mrs. N. H. Felt, gathered at the latter's home Sunday to honor her on her birthday anniversary. The visitors arrived ar-rived early Sunday morning and a most enjoyable day was spent. At noon an elaborate birthday dinner was served. The afternoon was spent , in social chatting and a number of I contest games were played, for which 'suitable prizes were awarded. The out-of-town visitors were Mrs. Elmo Eddington and children, of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Anderson of Moroni, Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Felt of Mounds, Mr. and Mrs.' Lavor Christensen of Provo, Mr., and Mrs. Harold Felt of Salina, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Felt of Mayfield. Mr. and. Mrs. Earl Jensen are the proud parents of a fine baby girl, I born April 6th. Mrs. Jensen was j formerly Miss Rosa Peterson, daughter daugh-ter of Bishop and Mrs. C. A. Peter-i Peter-i son. Little Miss Jensen is the twelfth j gr'ardifhild of Mr. and Mrs. Peterson. ' Tuesday evening the Centerfield ward M. I. A. held "Ward Honor Night." Contests were in public speaking and retold story. Miss Ilean I Hansen was given . first place in the Gleaner Girls' public speaking, and I Miss Doris Barlow received first in the Junior Girls' retold story. These , girls will represent Centerfield ward j in the "Stake Honor Day," to be held at the Qunnison Valley high school :'Saturday, April 21. A play was also |
