Show WHAT WE CANNOT DO. The comment is made In a Washington Wash-ington paper that we live in a marvelous mar-velous age. Who can deny it? The things we can do and are doing are almost beyond belief. We build an airship that girdles the globe in 20 days. We master with wings the high roads of the air. We whisper and, are heard around the world. We have abolished yellow fever and other scourges of the race. We harness waterfalls wa-terfalls and streams and send the silent si-lent power of electricity to the place where work is to be done. We bu:ld mechanical horses for those who travel tra-vel the roads and supply one to almost al-most every Amrican family. We have discovered a fourth dimension and can prove what the human mind cannot conceive. We can divide hydrogen into at least two of its parts. We measure light speed and sound space. We produce pro-duce a chemical gas which will destroy des-troy the life of a city in an hour. All this, and more, we can do. But here is something to abolish poverty, to remove want from the aged, to fur- j nish work to those willing to be em-! ployed these are problems too great for this great age. |
