Show Axtell Girl Dies After Long Illness Following an illness resulting from an operation for appendicitis, which was followed by complications, Lois Katherine Kump, 13-year-old daugh-S daugh-S ter of Lorin Kump, died Tuesday of j last week at her home in Axtell. Lois I was stricken about three months ago, and immediately underwent an opera-. opera-. tion. For several weeks she was dangerously dan-gerously ill, but through a gallant j fight for her life she finally showed j improvement. Later, however, her ! system weakened, she lost the strug-! strug-! gle, and was called to the Great Beyond. I Lois was born at Bear River City, April 10, 1921, the daughter of Loran and Edith Allred Kump. The family went to Clarion in 1920, and about a year ago they went to Axtell to j reside. Mrs. Kump died in 1924. Mr. Kump and his children were living with Kate Kump, a sister to Loran. Besides the father, Loran Kump, Lois is survived by two sisters, Mrs. LaRae Jensen, Centerfield; Lula May Kump, Axtell; her aunt, Miss Kate Kump of Axtell, and her grand parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Allred, of Bear River City. Impressive funeral services were held at the Axtell school house Friday Fri-day afternoon at 1 o'clock, with Bishop Arnold Amtoft officiating. Clive Despain, Bishop Lafe Frandsen, j C. P. Larson and Bishop Amtoft were the principal speakers, and an appropriate ap-propriate musical program was given. Interment was held at the Center-field Center-field cemetery, and was attended by j many schoolmates who knew and loved lov-ed their friend and companion who I had been called. |
