Show North Sanpeters Seek Tax Revision Sanpete county taxpayers, according accord-ing to advices received from E. J. Johnson of Moroni, are to join in the great fight for the revision of taxes in the county and in the state. Not only will Moroni join in asking the state legislature to take drastic action ac-tion to reduce the burden, but every town and hamlet in Sanpete will be asked to join the army and start a movement similar to that recently inaugurated in Sevier county. At a mass meeting held at Moroni Monday afternoon, according to Mr. lohnson, a committee was selected i nd instructed to draw up resolutions o be presented to the Utah state leg-slature, leg-slature, concerning tax revision. The committee selected consists of E. J. Johnson, chairman; C. S. Augason, secretary; James H. MHikelscn, William Wil-liam Collard and N. E. Mikkelsen, committee members. About 60 per cent of the taxpayers of the community were present at the meeting. It was the unanimous sentiment senti-ment of the taxpayers present that die program of tax revision which is teing advocated by the taxpayers of Sevier county be urged upon the state legislature. The committee was also instructed to urge the other towns of Sanpete county to take similar action. |
