Taking St. Paul, the capital of the state, as a representative repre-sentative Minnesota city, it is learned there are 2.S70 Johnsons, as compared to 1,050 I'rowns ; 2,"50 Petersons, compared com-pared to 030 Smiths, and 1,570 Andersons, Ander-sons, compared to 2S0 Joneses. Other Scandinavian names predominate In St. Paul, as is shown from the following follow-ing figures obtained from the city directory: di-rectory: Carlsons, 770; EricUsons, SS0; Jensens, 400. The population of St. Paul is about 250,000. |
