Show State Club Leader Gets Rare Candle D. P. Murray, state club leader, is in receipt of a candle which was lighted light-ed recently at the World's Fair at Chicago Chi-cago by the star Arcturus, which is 40 light years from the earth. According to G. L. Noble, managing manag-ing director of the national committee commit-tee on boys' and girls' club work, the observatory in Elgin, 111., trained its telescope on Arcturus and a photoelectric photo-electric cell actuated by the light from the star transmitted an electric current cur-rent via Western Union to the Century Cen-tury of Progress, where the current was amplified and ignited the master mas-ter candle from which candles were lighted in a special candle-lighting ceremony at the close of Farm Youth dnv at the World's Fair. The candle sent to Utah will be used as a master candle in forthcoming 4-H clubs ceremonies in this state, Mr. Murray said.
