At tho closo of tho school hoard meeting Tuesday, H October 17th, Superintendent Wulkcr funded his resignation !H to tho Board of Education to tako effect November 1st. Walker to accept a position with them. His successful experlenco and his standing among the educators ot the State seem to make bim a vnluablo man in the position ho Is to occupy. Tuesday, alter accepting Mr. Walk, er's resignation, the Board took up tho question ot appointing a new Superintendent. There were three local .men In the field, P. M. Nielsen, principal ot the American Fork High School; David Gourloy, principal ot tho Pleasant Grove High School, and David Mitchell, principal ot the Lohl High School. The Board voted on these 3 names Tuesday but they could reach no decision, the vote being 2. 2.1, and they continued I this dead, lock during Tuesday's session Wed. needay they again met, the same con. dltlon prevailed each member vot. Ing for tho man from his city, and the other two members voted the same as they did Tuesday, and the deadlock prevailed again 2.2.1,, When It was found that a majority vote would be impossible for one of the above men,Mr. Elmer Miller's name came up, and he was asked over the phone if he would accept the position. Lohl high school one year, and this IH is his third year as principal of the 'H Davis County high school. He at- t tonded school at tho B. Y. U., he U. jH of U., and was a graduate ot the iH Leland-Btantord University, Callfer. iH nla, and hag done post-graduate work H at tho University of Chicago.
