Show Citizens Respond In Fund Appeal Sufficient funds to supply students stu-dents of the Washington grade school with more and better outdoor playground equipment was gathered in Wednesday and Thursday even-, ings of last week when the Parent-1 Teacher association, through an ac-1 tive committee staged a favorite' piny at the Casino theater. After all expenses ex-penses of advertising, planning for the picture and other incidentals were paid a net total of $31.50 was the reward for the ef f orts of the committee. This fund has been turned into the treasury of the Parent-Teacher association and will be used expressly for buying the playground play-ground equipment. With the coming of spring and when the students seek the open for exercise, equipment is necessary and only 'that which will develop healthier health-ier bodies and make them fit for st-dv, will be purchased. The list of equipment mentioned in the purchase pur-chase list will be soccor balls, baseballs base-balls and bats and basketballs. With this paraphernalia supplied and with the other stationery apparatus now on the ground, the Washington can boast of having some of the best in the county. Fred H. Jones, who was chairman rjf the Arrangement for the staging of the show, desires to express for his committee, the hearty thanks for the splendid response given by the citizens of this city. |
