Uohwer of this city, had his right ieg amputated above the knee. The work was skillfully done and the patient is now resting easy. The phvsieiany say he will be able to be out in a month. The primary cause of ihis amputation is not known. But eighteen months ago, Charles was out on the range west of Curinne with some young men fro m Blue C ree k . Their ho rses were careering around, when two of them collided, Charles' right leg getting caught between the heavy j animals. The injury was so slight1 : that die people can hardly credit i this accident with so much mischief. mis-chief. But next day a rheumatic pain was felt in the bruised knee; a few months later it began to swell; (hen the young man took to crutches; running sores broke out; and Tuesday the limb was taken off. . The injured knee bullied the skill of the doctors. |
