Show GUNNISON BALL PLAYER MAKES GOOD AT TOURNEY Waldo Villard, crack ball player, and who was drafted by the Salina team in the tatter's contest at the state tourney, made a record for himself in the three games played. In the opening game, when Salina was matched against the Red & White, Villard slammed two safeties. He played shortstop and left field. In the second game, when Salina routed Logan Lo-gan by a score of 13 to 1, Walt failed fail-ed for a hit, but when on bases he made a record at stealing, taking a couple of bases while the opposition slept. Sunday, in the conflict with the Gemmell club, who met a 3 to 1 defeat de-feat at the hand3 of Salina, Villard got one hit and stole two bases. Villard Vil-lard is of the opinion, like hundreds of others, that had the pitching lineup line-up been different at the opening, Salina Sal-ina would have copped state league honors in the amateur class at the tournament.
