Show Axtell Youth Is Suddenly Stricken Howard Jacobson, the 16-year-old son of James C. Jacobspn of Axtell, met a sudden death Sunday when he succumbed following a serious operation opera-tion for bowel obstruction at the Salina Sal-ina hospital, performed Saturday. Howard, who had undergone another operation some years ago, was in a critical condition when he reached the hospital, and an immediate operation was necessary in an attempt to save his life. Complications, however, which had developed on Friday, the day before the operation, made the case most critical, and he succumbed as stated above. Howard Jacobsen was born at Axtell, Ax-tell, the son of Mr. and Mrs."Jame3 C. Jacobsen. His mother died several years ago, and he is now survived b his father, one brother, Grant, and two sisters, Helen Jacobsen of Salim, and Mrs. I'ansey Johnson of Denver. Funeral services were held from the Axle school house Tuesday afternoon, after-noon, Bishop O. G. Sorenson being in charge. A beautiful and appropriate musical program was given and brief talks were made by C. L. Despain, Alvin Jensen, Royal Whitlock and Bishop Sorenson. Following the services the remains I were taken to Mayfield for interment. |
