Show Ephraim Planning Huge Celebration Joyful and elated over the fact that Governor Geo. H. Dern signed House Bill 101, which provides for Snow college col-lege becoming a state institution, citizens of Ephraim are planning "a b'g celebration in appreciation of the efforts of the backers of the measure in getting the college designated as a state school. Friday, April 10, has k been named as the day for the festivities festi-vities and invitations are being sent abroad to all high schools, civic or-! ganizations of all district communities, communi-ties, asking students, patrons, boosters boost-ers and friends to join in commemorating commemor-ating the big event. The annual Snow Senior day, at which all senior high school students are honored, will be changed from April 17 to April 10, thus becoming a part of the day,s activities. A committee consisting of representatives repre-sentatives from the Ephraim city council, Ephraim's Lions club and Snow college, are arranging a fine and attractive program for the day. Business men, townsmen and civic organ'zatiens of Ephraim are being solicited to finance the affair and it is proposed to make the event free to visitors and a celebration that will long be remembered. Ephraim, according to advices received re-ceived here, will be gaily decorated in,' gold and white, the official school colors, and entertainers will be in ev'dence to care for the visitors. The activities for the day w;ll include a special nrogram in the morning. A high school stunt program, a college band concert, a barbecue luncheon, competitive sports between the high schools, a free picture show, an evening eve-ning musical furnished by the college col-lege band and a dancing party will be features. Boosters of the bill and who were responsible for its passage, will be present, as well as Snow alumni, and it is expected that 1,000 or more in terested citizens will take part in the festivities. |
