Show BRAVE LITTLE RASCAL. While a western sun was making mak-ing a desperate effort to force its warm rays through an atmos--phere ladened with frost, and while human;ty was shivering in the cold, a tiny, little thing was observed in the street, making a desperate effort to break partic- i les from a hard, frozen apple to stay the pangs of hunger. This little wanderer, evidently just from the southern clime, was not happy it was too cold for him, ; but he was a brave little rascal, i Frequently he would "squat" and i warm his little toes and then resume re-sume the task of tackling the j frozen apple. Passersby would j stop to watch, but undaunted, j the object kept at his work for a j meal. When finished, though cold and almost stiff, the little fellow i flew to the tree, top. He was a robin red-breast the harbinger of Spring! |
