Pleasant last Saturday, arid according ac-cording to reports harmony prevailed and no serious contests arose to create cre-ate any real battle. Gunnison Valley succeeded in getting three men on the ticket, while the balance were widely" distributed throughout the coUnty, most every section being awarded with at least one candidate. . At the -'morning session, 01 if Michel-sen, Michel-sen, democratic state chairman, of Richfield, gave a brief address and urged democrats of Sanpete county to organize strongly, work in harmony and work for victory. Senator W, H. King, democratic nominee for reelection, reelec-tion, gave an address during the morning session.: , John Blaine, temporary chairman, was the keynoter, of the convention. He urged the democrats to get squarely square-ly back of President Roosevelt's New Deal, declaring it was the best safe policy to adopt for the nation's good. Committees were named on platform, plat-form, organization and order of business busi-ness and credentials, and nominations were deferred until after the committees commit-tees bad reported. The successful candidates were: State senator, Conrad Frischknecht, Centerfield; representative, O. G. Sor-enson, Sor-enson, Axtell; two-year commissioner, Lyman Seely, Fountain Green; four-year four-year commissioner, Henry W. Jones, Fairview; clerk, O. L. Hansen, Ephraim; Eph-raim; treasurer, Rudolph Hope, Spring City; recorder, Lola Clyde Pritchett, Mt. Pleasant; sheriff, Mina Beauregard, Gunnison; assessor, Ci ne Hansen, Moroni; attorney, John Hou-gaard, Hou-gaard, incumbent, Manti; surveyor, J. W. Fox, Jr., Manti. |
